This national, acquisitive Prize showcases printmaking practice in all its forms, drawing entries from across Australia.

One of Australia’s premier prizes for contemporary printmaking, the Gippsland Print Award makes its triumphant return in 2023.

This national, acquisitive Prize showcases printmaking practice in all its forms, drawing entries from across Australia.

The Prize is unique in that every artwork entered will be displayed; in this way emerging artists have the opportunity to have their work publicly exhibited alongside leading artists in the printmaking field.

Alongside the acquisitive first prize of $5,000, in 2023 the Gallery has awarded an additional non-acquisitive prize of $1,000 for the best work from Gippsland, the ‘Pat Waters Prize’, named in honour of one of the region’s pioneer contemporary artists and printmakers Pat Waters (1944–2022).

  • Dr Lesley Duxbury: Artist and Emeritus Professor, RMIT University
  • Simon Gregg: Director, Gippsland Art Gallery
